What does WiFi stand for?
Wi-Fi, often simply written as "wifi" stands for "Wireless Fidelity". We know Wi-Fi primarily from wireless networks both at home as in the office. Most wireless networks at home are a form of a Wi-Fi network (Local Area Network abbreviated LAN), when wireless it is a WLAN connection (Wireless Local Area Network).

If you want to install a wireless network based on Wi-Fi network (WLAN) at home, you must also have a wireless router (also known as an access point). This device ensures that your internet connection can be reached wirelessly.
How does it work (technically)
Wi-Fi stands for "Wireless Fidelity" and is a standard language for coding / encryption, summarized as "certificate" that ensures the security of the network.
There are different forms of Wi-Fi networks. All these networks fall under the international standard described in "IEEE 802.11". The most common Wi-Fi forms are IEEE 802.11b (max 11 Mbit / s) and IEEE 802.11g (max 54 Mbit / s) networks, also known as Wi-Fi-b and Wi-Fi-g networks. Devices that use this standard work with the radio sequences within 2.4 GHz and / or 5.0 GHz bands. These frequencies may be used by the user without a license under certain conditions.
